Reconnecting with Aunty Michelle
We are beyond excited to reconnect with Aunty Michelle and introduce her to our new preschool families!
Aunty Michelle Earl, a talented artist and basket weaver, is a proud Darkinjung woman with Wonnarua ties, and she has a deep personal connection to the Hunter Valley. We are so grateful to have her join us to share her incredible knowledge and passion for Aboriginal culture with our children.
Aunty Michelle’s teachings are not just about art – they are an exploration of ancient traditions and stories that have been passed down through generations. As Aunty Michelle says, “It is, as it always has been,” and we feel incredibly lucky that she is sharing this priceless cultural heritage with our little ones. Through traditional Aboriginal painting, Dreamtime stories, and the art of basket weaving, our children will learn about the rich history of the land and the people who have cared for it for thousands of years.
We are thrilled to have Aunty Michelle back into our preschool family, and we can’t wait for our new children to experience her workshops and teachings. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to connect with the cultural heritage of our land, and we are excited to see the creativity and understanding they will gain from this experience.
Stay tuned for updates and photos from Aunty Michelle’s workshops – we’re sure this will be a truly special time for our little ones!
