New Play Space is taking shape – HVO help is on the way….
Our new play space has been a huge community effort all round. This area has gone form a weed and dust bowl to a beautiful established play space that has been carefully planned to allow our existing yard to flow into our new yard.
The call out was made to families and the community to seek support financially, with resources, manpower and equipment and we had a overwhelming response.
This project started at the end of 2023 and is nearing completion. The HVO team kindly offered their apprentices to help build veggie garden beds, lay turf, paint our fences, and ensure that a majority of the yard was ready for the final touches. We have our local men’s shed helping to build some bridges and trinkets to add to this space and look forward to seeing their creations.
The children have been keeping a keen eye out on the yard and watching it take shape as we now enter this way into preschool due to the building works currently underway. They have been asking when they can get to go and play in this new space. We have planned a walking visit to venture through the area with the children in the coming weeks. We look forward to gaining their honest feedback and suggestions of what we can do to complete the new play space ready to open in term 2.
